Frequently asked questions for Finding Harmony

1. Time doesn't suit me as I work -  Our January, 2025 group will take place on Thursday 23rd January at 11AM and if it's not possible, I’m sorry to say you may need to wait for a future group.

2. What about Christmas and New Year - We understand that this is a special time for families, so we’ll pause during the festive period and extend the program to ensure you get the full 12 weeks without interruption.

3. Will my family’s information be kept confidential? Absolutely. Confidentiality is a top priority, and I uphold strict professional ethics. All group members agree to maintain complete confidentiality, fostering a secure, respectful environment. The only exception is if someone’s safety is at risk of harm or immediate danger, in which case appropriate steps will be taken to ensure everyone’s well-being.

4. What would be the structure of the group and what will we be doing? Each weekly session will last 60-90 minutes, and we’ll follow my Heal Family First method to help you set realistic 12-week goals. Each call will include a short training, Q&A time, and assignments to keep you actively engaged. You’ll also receive video resources to support your learning. In addition to this, this programme combines the personalised support of individual coaching with the power of group learning. You'll begin with two weeks of individual coaching sessions tailored to your specific challenges. This personalised phase allows us to deeply understand your family's unique needs and develop a customised plan for success. Following these individual sessions, you'll join a supportive group coaching environment where you'll learn from other parents, share your experiences, and gain valuable insights from group discussions

5. I’m nervous about speaking up in a group. This is common! Rest assured, you’re not alone. Many parents are facing similar struggles, and a small and intimate group setting provides a safe, understanding community. There is no obligation to share more than you’re comfortable with. In fact, the strength of this programme lies in our supportive, judgment-free environment where each parent is here to help, not to judge.

6. What if I miss a session? To ensure privacy, sessions won’t be recorded. However, if you have an unavoidable conflict, reach out, and I’ll work with you to make sure you still receive support.

7. Is this group therapy?
No, Finding Harmony is a structured parenting coaching program designed to provide tools and support for creating positive change in your family. This is not therapy but a focused coaching experience with the goal of helping you build lasting strategies and understanding. That said, Pei-I incorporates various therapeutic modalities throughout the work, and this means that she will carry out assessment of your family with you to work towards your family goals, share her professional insights and sign post your family to appropriate agency for additional support if required.

8. Is the group going to be as effective? There has been research to support the effectiveness of group work. We human being are wired to connect, we move in groups, we thrive in connection. In a group setting, you can observe effective parenting strategies and learn from each other's experiences. The Heal Family First Method provides a structured approach that facilitates positive change at home, whether you’re participating individually or in a group.

9. I am doubting myself - Self-doubt is something we all experience, and it’s perfectly normal to question whether you can implement new strategies at home. Take a moment to reflect on past successes—what have you achieved despite your doubts? Remember those strengths. That’s the beauty of the group: when you doubt yourself, the collective support will carry you until you regain your confidence. Plus, I’ll be there to guide and support you throughout this journey.

10. Time Commitment -  I understand this is a significant consideration. Ultimately, the decision to commit is yours. However, if you view it from a long-term cost-benefit perspective, this group could save you time by helping you avoid the pitfalls of ineffective strategies that can drain your energy and resources.

11. I don't live with my teenage children, how would it work? - One of the unique benefits of this group is that you set your own measurable and realistic goals for the 90 days. My role is to support you in achieving those goals. Even if you don’t live with your teens, you’re still a parent with unique responsibilities. Parenting can be challenging, especially at a distance. This group will empower you to become the parent you aspire to be, both in your current situation and in the future.
